These steps are required since our STAY-PUT BLANKETS are semi-custom and made in America.
When measuring, please use a flexible tape measure and lay the tape against your horse. Do not pull it tight.
1. Mid Chest to Mid Tail:
Starting at center front of chest, carry tape across and up against the horse's side to the middle of the tail. (conventional measurements for all blankets)

2. Withers to Tail:
Start at the front of withers, go along the top line/backbone, to the beginning of the tail.

3. Neck Circumference:
Starting at the withers, measure where your current blanket would normally fit around your horse's neck, measuring from withers to the center of the chest. Double this to equal the horse's full neck circumference. (e.g. 30 x 2 = 60). Warning: do not measure all around the neck; use the doubling process.

4. Chest Measurement:
Standing at horse's left shoulder, place a measuring tape in the middle of the shoulder, go 1/2 way across chest. Make sure not to pull the skin as you go.
Take this measurement and double it. (e.g. 17 x 2 = 34)

MEDIUM 72" - 74" 3X LARGE 88" - 90"

- We offer both Standard and Plus sizes. Plus sizes are for muscular, large shouldered and/or large chested horses. Customer Service will determine.

- As a general rule, order one size larger than you normally would, unless your horse is extremely small boned.

- Larger and Smaller sizes available for an additional fee. No additional fee for Plus version of above sizes.



Your STAY-PUT BLANKET should fit:

  • Comfortably in front of the withers, and continue along top line to base of tail (or slightly longer).
  • The front leg closures should not fit too snugly, and should be at least 1 to 2 inches above the knee joint.
  • The rear leg closures should not fall below the horses hocks, and preferably be at least 2 inches above hocks.
  • When attaching front chest closure, be sure that you can fit a flat hand between blanket and horses neck for proper fit.
  • At no time should the STAY-PUT BLANKET fit too snugly on any part of your horse.
